Awards & Accolades
On September 6, 2011, the City of Bothell's Downtown Revitalization won a VISION 2040 Award from the Puget Sound Regional Council.
The awards are given by PSRC to recognize innovative projects and programs that help ensure a sustainable future for the region. The Council recognized the City's effort to leverage private sector investment using infrastructure improvements including the realignment of segments of 522. Read press release from PSRC.
In August 2011, Bothell City Manager Bob Stowe was recognized by the Washington City/County Management Association (WCMA) with the Award of Excellence.
The Award for Excellence recognizes Stowe for his visionary ideas and efforts that enhance the effectiveness of local elected officials. This is the third statewide award for the City of Bothell this year as progress continues on the City's Downtown Revitalization plan. Stowe has previously received four WCMA awards.

On June 8, Gov. Chris Gregoire announced the winners of her 2011 Smart Communities Awards for creating livable communities in Washington State.
Bothell and the other 11 communities recognized this year are considered models in planning for smart growth. Bothell also received a Smart Communities Award in 2007 for the Capital Facilities Plan. The Smart Communities Awards are administered by the Growth Management Program at the Washington State Department of Commerce.

On May 3, 2011, Bothell's Downtown Revitalization was recognized by the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) with the Municipal Excellence Award for Economic Development.
Now in their 21st year, the Excellence Awards recognizes innovative municipal projects that significantly improve the quality of life for citizens, establish partnerships, and build community support. The Municipal Excellence Awards are a showcase of all the great things happening in Washington State. The Municipal Excellence Awards are presented to cities that have demonstrated outstanding achievements in promoting community excellence. The competition recognizes a community's achievement and encourages other cities to develop similar programs.
